Reflection
Ezekiel 24:15-24, Matthew 19:16-22
“A Series of Small Steps towards Jesus”
Jesus calls each of us to let go of the things that hold onto us so tightly that prevent us from truly following Him. Why are we afraid to let go of our ‘great wealth’, of laziness, of certain addiction, of pride, etc? Why do we not trust more in Jesus who can give us the fullness of love that we long for?

“What seemed to impress people was the realization that this story does not imply a huge leap from everything to nothing but rather a long series of small steps in the direction of love... It is not so much a question of detachment as it is a question of fully trusting and following the voice of love.” (Henri Nouwen)

Questions for reflection:
1) What message do I get from praying with the story of the young rich man?

2) Why do I find it hard to let go of my ‘great wealth’ and learn to trust more in Jesus?
